Dog vs Cat
Nature & Science
Closer to an identity question than a preference one. People tend to answer it quickly and with conviction, which makes it useful as a low-ambiguity anchor when the rest of a question set is more contested.
About this comparison
An open paired-comparison study on PickAFav™. Adding your preference contributes to the nature & science set.
Why the framing changes the answer
"To own" and "in general" are worth testing as separate wordings. For most pairs that distinction moves the result; if it does not move here, that stability is itself a useful property for a calibration item.
What segmentation reveals
Any real read would need household context, which this platform does not collect. That is exactly the kind of variable a designed follow-up round would capture, and it is the difference between an open poll and a study.
Add your preference
Voting happens in the PickAFav™ app. A free account is required, and that requirement is deliberate: it is what keeps the sample defensible.
How this data is collected
- One vote per person, per pair. Votes are bound to a registered account and cannot be repeated or changed.
- No anonymous voting. Open endpoints can be scripted, and a single motivated actor can flood a result.
- Aggregate results are not published here. Distributions are analysed as part of PickAFav™ research work.
