iPhone vs Android
Technology & Digital
Stated preference and purchase behaviour can diverge sharply when switching costs are high. A preference question here risks measuring brand sentiment while a decision-maker assumes it measures intent to buy.
About this comparison
An open paired-comparison study on PickAFav™. Adding your preference contributes to the technology & digital set.
Why the framing changes the answer
"Which do you prefer" and "which would you buy next" are not interchangeable. The first collects sentiment including from people who will never switch; the second collects intent. Conflating them produces a number that supports no decision.
What segmentation reveals
Market is the segmentation that matters, because a worldwide total can average away the very differences a product decision depends on. This pair is the clearest argument in the set for defining the population before reading any result.
Add your preference
Voting happens in the PickAFav™ app. A free account is required, and that requirement is deliberate: it is what keeps the sample defensible.
How this data is collected
- One vote per person, per pair. Votes are bound to a registered account and cannot be repeated or changed.
- No anonymous voting. Open endpoints can be scripted, and a single motivated actor can flood a result.
- Aggregate results are not published here. Distributions are analysed as part of PickAFav™ research work.
